Preparing Your Kitchen For The New Year

It’s that time of year again! With Christmas just around the corner and the New Year creeping in faster than we can pull a Christmas cracker, it’s time to start considering how to prepare your kitchen for the New Year. We’re bringing your annual Spring Clean a little closer this year, and here’s how!

Clear The Clutter

There’s no better way to start the New Year than with a clean kitchen, clear of clutter and everything collected over the festive season. This is especially true this year, as more of us than ever before will be enjoying the period in our homes. As part of your annual “take the Christmas decorations down” routine, start decluttering your fridge, windowsill and everything in between to give your mind that fresh feeling.

Organisation Is Key

It’s pretty easy for your kitchen to become disorganised over the festive period, with almost everything happening in your home at once. Make the time to organise your kitchen (and the rest of your home) so that you can almost start the year on a fresh slate, feeling organised and knowing exactly where everything is. To help, you could even consider purchasing some additional storage boxes, baskets or trays and labelling them to make it even easier to find what you’re looking for at a glance!

Store Your Festive Dishware

We all love some festive dishware, whether it’s the festive-themed plates we bring out on Christmas Eve or all the Christmas-inspired snack bowls and dishes we have laying out on the side for some easy-to-access snacks. Instead of just putting your festive dishware back in your cupboard this year, why not consider packaging them up properly and storing them elsewhere until next December. This way, you’ll have more room in your cupboards for what you need throughout the year and will prevent you from having to move everything out of the way to create more storage space post-Christmas.

Give Your Kitchen A New Lease Of Life

We all spend a lot of time in our kitchens, including as families. Why not consider giving your kitchen a new lease of life in 2021 by freshening up the walls and painting it a different colour, or going all out and jumping on the bandwagon for one of the latest kitchen trends? Not only does this make the perfect project to get through all the recent uncertainty amongst Covid-19, but it can also help to increase the value of your home and allow you to save money in the long-term. Not to mention the increased storage space and comfort!

Start Your New Year Now

There’s no better feeling than heading into the New Year, so why not start preparing your kitchen now to make sure you’re completely ready for 2021.
