How To Get Your Kitchen Autumn/Winter Ready

Tis’ the season for pumpkin spiced lattes, After Eights and cosy nights in – but how can you decorate your kitchen so that it feels just as festive as the rest of your beloved home? We’re taking a closer look at some of our favourite trends and inspirations, below!

Add Some Seasonal Touches

When it comes to decorating your kitchen for the autumn and winter, those all-important seasonal touches really will be the ones to make the biggest difference and, if you’re like us, we just can’t wait! Depending on the size of your kitchen or kitchen/living room space, you could consider adding soft touches to your furniture such as velvet-like cushions and pillows or even a garland or two to wrap around your room décor. For those who may be more limited on what they can and can’t do, consider decorating your windowsill or sink area to make sure that your festivities are always in view.

Fill Baskets with Accessories

Just because you’re decorating your kitchen for autumn and winter, it doesn’t mean that it has to be basic. Consider filling spare bowls and wire fruit baskets with some autumnal accessories, and even consider switching these up for Halloween, Bonfire Night and even Christmas! Miniature pumpkins, fake spider webs and pom poms make an excellent alternative to imitate those seasonal items we all recognise and love!

Adapt Your Colour Scheme or Get Creative!

Regardless of the colour scheme of your kitchen, we’re pretty sure that you can find an accessory or two to match what you already have. Although autumn is often a time known for its deep reds, oranges and, in some cases, yellows, you can find suitable decorations in all sorts of colours, making it easier than ever to add a little something different to your kitchen space! If not, why not get creative and make your own? Spray paint is super inexpensive and can be found online and in numerous high-street stores, meaning that it’s easily accessible for those last-minute DIYs.

 Switch Up Your Seating

Fall is a time whereby families spend more time than ever together, so now is the perfect time to get a new dining table or build a new kitchen island to make sure that everyone is able to spend time with one another. Kitchen islands in particular are a great way to add another feature to your kitchen – and are perfect for kids! They also offer additional storage space (which is perfect to hide those much-loved festive treats and snacks) and provides additional versatility when it comes to hosting a festive event in your very own home.

Autumn and winter are two seasons we find very hard not to love. With Halloween and Christmas fast approaching, now is the perfect time to update the style of your kitchen. After all, it is the season!
